SALIVA Singer Blames Former Manager For NICKELBACK Flap

July 2, 2004

Launch Radio Networks reports that SALIVA singer Josey Scottlashed out earlier this week at NICKELBACK frontman Chad Kroeger, claiming he was robbed of thousands of dollars that he should have received for his contribution to the 2002 hit, "Hero", on which Scott and Kroeger both sang. Scott said he lays the blame for the dispute at the feet of NICKELBACK's manager, Bryan Coleman, who was also managing SALIVA at the time. "If he was going to represent Chad Kroeger and he was gonna represent myself, he should have fought for me a little more on what I was given, 'cause I was not compensated appropriately for what I did with that. Bryan Coleman and Chad Kroeger made hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, off of that, and I didn't see any of that to speak of."

Scott says he's had no contact with the NICKELBACK camp for a while, and is not interested in speaking with them now. "I was contacted today, actually, that they were trying to get a hold of me. But it's too little too late, you know. I think they put me through the chain of command for so long, that it's sort of my turn, and I want to send them through my chain of command. If they have anything to say to me, they can talk to my manager."

Scott told MTV.com that he was supposed to get a total of $80,000 for his vocals on the song and his appearance in the video, but only got $5,000 instead.
